Vor mehr als 300 Jahren begann man in Sundwig, die für die Fingerhut-, Tabakdosen-, und Drahtherstellung notwendigen Bleche aus Messing auf wassergetriebenen Plattenhämmern auszuschmieden. Später trat das Walzwerk anstelle des Hammers, die Dampfmaschine und schließlich der Elektromotor anstelle des Wasserrades.
Heute bilden die über Jahrhunderte gesammelte Erfahrung in der Erzeugung und Verarbeitung von Buntmetallen das Fundament zur Erzeugung von über 40 hochwertigster Legierungen.

Die Ingpuls GmbH aus Bochum entwickelt und produziert kundenspezifische Legierungen und Komponenten aus Formgedächtnislegierungen (FGL). FGL sind metallische Werkstoffe, die sich nach einer scheinbar plastischen Verformung durch Erwärmung wieder an ihre Ursprungsgestalt ‚zurückerinnern‘ können, sobald sichdie Temperatur entsprechend ändert.
Im Jahr 2009 als Spin-Off des Instituts für Werkstoffe der Ruhr-Universität Bochum entstanden, ist Ingpuls in mehreren Stufen vom Consultant zum Entwicklungsdienstleister und letztlich im Jahre 2016 zum Massenproduzenten aufgestiegen. Heute ist das Unternehmen weltweit technologisch führend und bekannt für seine ausgezeichnete Expertise in der Materialherstellung und -verarbeitung, sowie der applikationsspezifischen Mikrostrukturentwicklung.
