Die ELRIED MARKIERUNGSSYSTEME GmbH entstand vor 50 Jahren als E. Riedmaier Signiermittelimport in Unterhaching bei München.
Von Frau Elisabeth Riedmaier im Mai 1959 als Europavertretung der Firma IDEAL STENCIL COMPANY Belleville USA gegründet, entwickelte sich das Unternehmen im Laufe der Jahre zum Marktführer im Bereich der Kontaktmarkierung.
Mit der Übernahme der Deutschlandvertretung der Firma MARSH USA wurden die beiden führenden Hersteller in diesem Bereich auf dem deutschen Markt exklusiv vertreten.
In den späten siebziger Jahren entdeckte ELRIED eine Marktlücke - die elektronische Herstellung von Signierschablonen. Mit der Entwicklung der Stanz-o-mat Baureihe wurde  das Unternehmen Marktführer im Bereich der Schablonen-Signierung.
Bis heute steht dieses System durch die stetige Weiterentwicklung und Softwareanpassung an die neuesten Computertechniken an der Spitze des Marktes.
Mit der Übernahme der Geschäftsführung durch den Sohn der Gründerin Herrn Bernhard Riedmaier erweiterte ELRIED seine Geschäftsfelder auf den Bereich der Kontaktmarkierung, mittels Anbaudruckgeräten und den Bereich der berührungslosen Kennzeichnung durch den Aufbau einer eigenen INK-JET Abteilung.
Durch diverse Akquisitionen in der Branche wurde die ELRIED MARKIERUNGSSYSTEME GmbH ein Komplettanbieter für weite Teile der Industriellen Kennzeichnung.

Company - the ÖSTLING Group
In the middle of the 18th century, steel experts of Walloon origin emigrated from Belgium to northern Sweden. Your name was Pierro. In the up-and-coming ironworks district of Sandviken, they attained prosperity, bought a manor and changed their name: ÖSTLING.
Her interest in technology remained unchanged. They developed machines, e.g. to convey peat rationally, to deform steel or to produce nails.
This innovative thinking and the motivation of our ancestors have shaped the founder of the company Rolf Östling.
In 1945 he was born in Gävle in Sweden, a harbour town, and after graduating from high school while studying industrial engineering, he had the idea of developing a labelling system.
He started building a machine in a tiny dark cellar in 1968.
His first customers were Sandvik (the world's largest hard metal producer) and Svenska (ball bearing factory).
Innovations such as corrosion-free electrolytes and stencil material with very long service lives helped the company to expand further.
Then in 1978 he moved to Germany (Essen) and founded the company ÖSTLING Vertriebs GmbH.
In 1979, the company headquarters were moved to Solingen, as the cutlery and cutlery industry in the town of Klingen has a worldwide reputation and market potential is concentrated here.
Due to the constant expansion, especially in export, the company moved again in 1988 within Solingen in order to meet the development and space requirements. The company is renamed ÖSTLINGMarkiersysteme GmbH.
In 2003 the company STOMMEL+VOOS Marking Technologies GmbH from Solingen became an important part of the worldwide represented ÖSTLING Group, offering solutions and technologies for all problems of industrial marking in the daily production process from one source.
The product range of STOMMEL+VOOS includes e.g. stamping tools, hand punches, wheel punches, disc punches or type holders. In addition, STOMMEL+VOOS also offers needle embossers, scribe embossers, presses, stamping machines, marking systems, high-tech robot marking systems and special machine construction.
Through the acquisition of further companies, further expansion and internationalisation, ÖSTLING Markiersysteme GmbH becomes ÖSTLING Marking Systems GmbH in 2013.
At the same time, foreign sales offices were established in Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, China (Shenzen and Hong Kong), France, England and the USA.
In the German headquarters in Solingen, a modern development and production centre has been established, where hardware and software development is carried out.
The ÖSTLING Group now offers marking systems for almost every product.
For almost 50 years now, the ÖSTLING Group has been one of the world market leaders in product labelling. The family-owned company is the pioneer of electrolytic marking.
In addition to needle embossing and scribing, the product range also includes state-of-the-art technologies such as laser marking and vision systems, as well as special mechanical engineering tailored to individual customer requirements.
