The COCOON story started in 1989 with a bulky, sewn-together cotton sheet that almost caused the founder of the Design Salt Outdoor GmbH to be swept away in a Balinese river when he was trying to wash it. Since then COCOON TravelSheets, MummyLiners and travel accessories have seen a lot of improvement and perfection. They now come in a large number of especially developed, high quality fabrics. A wide variety of functional details make them ideal companions for adventurers, travelers and mountaineers worldwide.
Today COCOON products are sold in many countries all over the world. Nevertheless the company is still led by a small, highly motivated team. Based in Austria the Design Salt Outdoor GmbH is in charge of developing new products, organizing and supervising the production and marketing in Europe and on international markets. Design Salt Inc., which is located in the state of Washington in the USA, is responsible for sales and marketing in North America.
