Das Unternehmen Barthels-Feldhoff wurde 1829 als Nähgarnzwirnerei gegründet und ist bis heute im Mehrheitsbesitz der Gründerfamilie. In den ersten Jahren der Firmengeschichte entwickelte sich gewachstes Baumwollgarn, so genanntes Eisengarn, zum wichtigsten Artikel des Unternehmens. Barthels-Feldhoff entschloss sich deshalb Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts zum Aufbau einer eigenen Flechterei.
Der Einstieg in die Herstellung von Schuhsenkeln und die damit verbundenen textilen Fertigungstechniken entwickelten sich in den folgenden Jahrzehnten zu einem wesentlichen Bestandteil unseres Unternehmenserfolges.
Bereits in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts begann Barthels-Feldhoff mit der Herstellung von technischen Schnüren und Kordeln wie z.B. Fallschirmleinen.
