Die Firma Leichtform GmbH wurde im Juni 2009 gegründet. Die Produktion
ist bereits im Juli 2009 erfolgreich aufgenommen worden.
Am Standort in Bernsdorf werden seit vielen Jahren PUR Schäume verarbeitet. Bereits vor 1990 gehörte dieser Standort als Betriebsteil zum „Synthesewerk Schwarzheide“, welches später durch die BASF übernommen worden ist. Danach wurde die PUR-Schaumverarbeitung Tochterunternehmen eines international tätigen Kunststoffverarbeiters.
Die Leichtform GmbH ist eine Ausgründung aus diesem ehemaligen Firmenverbund und produziert heute schwerpunktmäßig PUR Formschaumteile in harter, halbharter und weicher Ausführung. Die Formteile können in verschiedener Weise veredelt werden und finden Anwendung im Maschinenbau, der Elektroindustrie, der Geräteherstellung, der Nutzfahrzeugindustrie und der Medizintechnik.
