Von den 20.726 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern in rund 120 Ländern sind fast 70 Prozent als Nationales Personal vor Ort tätig. Als anerkannter Träger des Entwicklungsdienstes entsenden wir derzeit 577 Entwicklungshelferinnen und Entwicklungshelfer. Darüber hinaus hat das Centrum für internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM), eine Arbeitsgemeinschaft aus GIZ und der Bundesagentur für Arbeit, im Jahr 2018 317 Integrierte und 518 Rückkehrende Fachkräfte an lokale Arbeitgeber in den Einsatzländern vermittelt beziehungsweise finanziell oder durch Beratungs- und Serviceleistungen unterstützt
