GLOREX was founded in 1974 in Kölliken, canton Aargau, Switzerland.
Original Swiss rag dolls formed the main business at this time with extraordinary success. With the help of a deep-drawn mask and a body made of tricot fabric, an original Swiss rag doll could be produced in a simple way . With matching dresses, socks, underwear, accessories and small wigs made of artificial or real hair, lovable doll personalities could be produced individually.
In 1982, the location was relocated to Füllinsdorf in the canton of Basel-Land. In 1987, GLOREX GmbH was founded in Rheinfelden, Germany, which moved into a new commercial building with 6000 square meters in Rheinfelden, Baden in 1992. The doll assortment has been consistently expanded and partly supplemented with patented innovations. In addition, a complete teddy bear assortment was created. In 1995, the takeover of the company M. Wanke GmbH in Limburg near Frankfurt took place. With this acquisition, GLOREX has become one of the world's leading do-it-yourself dolls .
In 1997, the hobby time and Stewa-Hobby brands were taken over with a large part of the assortments of these two well-known German manufacturers in the field of hobby and creative leisure products. A heavyweight was in the assortment of technical hobbies such as: modeling, casting, mold making, casting resin and candle decoration. Over the last few years, the assortment has been further expanded and significantly expanded.
GLOREX developed from a specialist in the field of dolls and teddy bears to a full-range supplier in the field of hobby and creative leisure. Today, GLOREX is able to competently handle the entire range of "creative leisure time" from a single source.
We employ about 50 people at 2 locations, in Füllinsdorf, Switzerland and in Rheinfelden, Germany. Our dynamic full range includes more than 10,000 current articles.
