Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec” at Zębiec, S.A. is a company with over 50 year tradition.
The enterprise was founded in 1954 as “Mines and Enrichment Plants for Ferruginous Sands under Construction” and its main scope of activities was mining and enrichment of ferruginous sands. Commenced in the years 1954-1956, the project was completed in 1965 and the company’s name was changed to Zakłady Górniczo-Hutnicze „Zębiec.
Since then the company started the production of so called, “zelgruda” – a semi-product for metallurgical engineering. The company comprised the strip mine “Zębiec”, enrichment plant with washer, rotary furnaces and electromagnetic separation. The production of “zelgruda” was continued till the year 1970.
Starting from 1971, the production of a new line of products was initiated and in 1972 the company changed its name to Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec”. In the 1990s the company underwent a comprehensive restructuring process and afterwards Zakłady Górniczo-Metalowe „Zębiec” at Zębiec, S.A. was established.
Throughout those years, ever changing economic conditions enforced changes in our adopted strategy. At present the company’s strategic activities are based on a few assumptions. We concentrate our goals on the customer’s satisfaction, total commitment of our staff, permanent quality improvement and bringing to perfection the organisation of work.
